PARTICIPATION IN THE INAUGURAL COP31-IEA HIGH LEVEL DIALOGUE

Amb. Betty Cherwon this evening held consultations with Amb. Ali Mohamed, Special Envoy of H.E. President William Ruto on Climate Change.
The two principals and their teams exchanged views on Kenya’s leadership and ongoing efforts to address the adverse impacts of climate change. Discussions underscored Kenya’s commitment to multilateral action and innovative solutions in climate adaptation and mitigation.
Earlier in the day, Amb. Cherwon and the Special Envoy participated in the inaugural CoP31–IEA High Level Dialogue at the International Energy Agency Headquarters in Paris.
Among the issues discussed was the upcoming 2nd Clean Cooking Summit, to be hosted in Nairobi from 9–10 July 2026. The Summit will convene global leaders to accelerate clean energy transitions, reduce household air pollution, and expand access to safe, sustainable cooking solutions across Africa.
