
AMBASSADOR CHERWON HOSTS KENYANS IN FRANCE UMBRELLA ASSOCIATION

Ambassador Betty Cherwon hosted the newly elected officials of the Kenyans in France Umbrella Association for a courtesy call and introductory meeting at the Chancery on 9th October 2026.
The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss matters of mutual interest to the Kenyan diaspora and the motherland.
Ambassador Cherwon was accompanied by Deputy Head of Mission Amb. Jane Lusenaka, Minister Counsellor Dennis Muhambe and Immigration Attaché Topister Mukhwaya. The Association’s delegation was led by its President, Mr. Leon Kuria, accompanied by members of the new leadership and the interim committee.
The Embassy welcomes the establishment of a unified umbrella body to articulate the interests of Kenyans in France. The Mission looks forward to working closely with the Association and, through it, with the broader Kenyan diaspora in France to protect and promote the welfare and interests of Kenyans.
The Embassy congratulates the new leadership and wishes them success in their mandate.
