19th October 2026
Amb. Betty Cherwon held a productive meeting with Amb. Arnaud Suquet, the Director for Africa and Indian Ocean of the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs. Amb. Suquet is also the immediate former French Ambassador to Kenya.
The meeting focused on the implementation of the outcomes of the Africa Forward Summit, which was co-hosted by Kenya and France in Nairobi on 11th – 12th May 2026. In particular, the meeting reviewed progress on the bilateral agreements, as well as the commercial deals that were concluded by the Kenyan and French private sector players. The two Ambassadors were instrumental in the planning and execution of the Summit. They also discussed the strong ties between Kenya and France, which has been buttressed by the recent high-level engagements by H.E. President William Ruto and H.E. President Emmanuel Macron.
