On 25 Sept 2025, H.E. Amb. Betty Cherwon received H.E. Joël Rault, Ambassador of Mauritius to France, for a courtesy call. She congratulated him on his appointment and reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties. The two envoys discussed boosting cooperation in tourism—including job opportunities for Kenyan professionals in Mauritius—and explored deeper collaboration in transport, maritime affairs, and financial services. On multilateral cooperation, Amb. Cherwon sought Mauritius’ support for Prof. Phoebe Okowa’s candidature to the ICJ, highlighting Kenya’s dedication to advancing international justice.
