Paris 12, October 2026
Three managers from Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC) and Athi Water Works Development Agency (AWWDA) have graduated from the National Institute for Life Sciences and Industries and the Environment (AgroParisTech) after completing the Specialized Master’s programme “Water for All” (OpT).
The programme is designed for managers, senior executives and Directors-General of urban water and sanitation services in developing and transition countries.
Ambassador Betty Cherwon was delighted to attend the graduation ceremony and present awards to the Kenyan graduands. The occasion also provided an opportunity to discuss with the organizers the proposal to establish an African Hub of the University in Kenya.
The graduands were Ms. Jemima Kariuki and Mr. Duke Ombaki from Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company, and Ms. Rehab King’ori from Athi Water Works Development Agency.
Also present were the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nairobi Prof. Ayub Gitau, Dr. Simpson Osano and Prof. Josiah Aduda, both of the University of Nairobi. The cohort was mentored by Prof. Catherine Ngila, Executive Director of the African Academy of Sciences in Nairobi.
Kenya-France relations continue to be strengthened through such academic and technical cooperation.
