MEETING WITH PRINCIPAL SECRETARY FOR ECONOMIC PLANNING

PARIS, 28TH APRIL 2026

Amb. Betty Cherwon, today at her office, held a productive meeting with the visiting Principal Secretary for Economic Planning, Dr. Boniface Makokha, to assess Kenya’s readiness for the upcoming G7 Development Ministers’ Meeting taking place in Paris from 29th to 30th April 2026. The discussions focused on aligning priorities and refining Kenya’s contributions to the development track of the G7. Kenya was invited alongside Korea, Brazil, and India to the G7 Leaders’ Summit scheduled to take place in Évian, France, from 15th to 16th June 2026. The Ambassador and the Principal Secretary also exchanged views on Kenya’s broader international economic agenda, including ongoing engagement with the OECD and opportunities for strengthened cooperation. Dr. Makokha is in Paris to lead the Kenyan delegation to the Ministerial Meeting.
