OVERSIGHT VISIT BY DEPARTMENTAL COMMITTEE ON DEFENCE, INTELLIGENCE & FOREIGN RELATIONS

The Departmental Committee on Defence, Intelligence & Foreign Relations of the National Assembly conducted an oversight visit to the Embassy, where they engaged in productive discussions with Ambassador Betty Cherwon and staff on diplomatic operations, service delivery, and representing Kenya’s interests abroad. The Committee also inspected government-owned properties to assess their condition and ensure optimal utilization of public resources. The delegation, led by Hon. Maj. (Rtd.) Sheikh Abdullahi Bashir of Mandera North, included Hon. (Dr.) Kasalu Irene Muthoni of Kitui County and Hon. Kirima Moses Nguchine of Imenti Central Constituency. The Committee plays a vital role in oversight, policy review, and legislative scrutiny on matters related to national security and international affairs.
