Paris, 17th – 18November 2025

Today in Paris, Dr. Korir Sing’oei, Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs, met with Mr. Mark Freeman, Executive Director of the Institute for Integrated Transition (IFIT), accompanied by Ambassador Betty Cherwon. The two held insightful discussions on international peace mediation frameworks as enjoined by the Charter of the United Nations.

Later, Dr. Sing’oei met with H.E. Jeremie Robert, Advisor to the President of France, H.E. Emmanuel Macron, at the Palais de l’Elysée. They discussed preparations for the upcoming Africa Forward Partnership Summit, which Kenya and France will co-host in May 2026. Both parties expressed a commitment to delivering a summit that will support the realization of Africa Vision 2063. The meeting was attended by Kenya’s Ambassador to France, Betty Cherwon, and Ambassador Jérémie Blin, co-coordinator of the French-Africa Summit.

In the afternoon, Dr. Korir Sing’oei held a discussion with H.E. Mme Eléonore Caroit, Minister Delegate responsible for Francophonie, International Partnerships, and French Nationals Abroad. They deliberated extensively on the bilateral relations between Kenya and France, with a focus on the upcoming Africa-France Summit in May 2026 in Nairobi.

On 18th November, the Principal Secretary, while accompanied by Amb. Cherwon held a meeting with Mr. Nicolas Forissier, France’s Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness, and Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France. The meeting was centred on strengthening Kenya-France economic relations and also touched on the preparations for the Africa-France Summit, which Kenya will proudly host in Nairobi in May 2026. The Summit is expected to bring together over 2000 participants, including Heads of State and Government, Private sector leaders, international Organizations, civil society, and media, marking an important moment for partnership, dialogue, and shared progress between Africa and France.

Later on, Korir Sing’oei attended the 7th Edition of “Ambition Africa”, a key annual business forum dedicated to strengthening partnerships between France and the African continent. This year’s discussions placed strong emphasis on agriculture, energy transition, innovation, and digital transformation, all of which are crucial drivers of sustainable growth.
