1 st INTERNATIONAL INVESTMENT CONFERENCE AND TRADE FAIR ON TRANSFORMING KENYA’S INDIGENOUS KNOWLEDGE INTELLECTUAL ASSETS INTO MARKET-READY INNOVATIONS, 2026

15/04/2026BY Press Desk

The 1st International Investment Conference and Trade Fair on Transforming Kenya’s Intellectual Assets into Market-Ready Innovations, 2026 is scheduled to take place from 21st to 23rd April 2026 in Murang’a County, Kenya. The conference will be organised by the Natural Products Industry (NPI) of the National Museums of Kenya, under the State Department for Culture, the Arts and Heritage.

The conference aims to unlock investment opportunities in Kenya’s indigenous wealth by promoting heritage-based enterprises and showcasing Indigenous Knowledge Intellectual Assets as a new area of economic growth. It will highlight opportunities in areas such as traditional foods and local cuisines, performing arts and the creative economy, heritage sites and cultural tourism, indigenous technologies for industrialisation, and traditional medicine for One Health, among others.

This presents a strategic opportunity for diaspora investment, partnership building, knowledge exchange, and renewed engagement with Kenya’s cultural and intellectual heritage.

It is particularly important in fostering stronger linkages with second- and third-generation Kenyans abroad, including those seeking meaningful pathways for cultural reconnection and investment engagement.
